14 June Day 2 back in US -Las Vegas

Hot, dry days on the outside and air con everywhere

We woke very late this morning. This seems to be the Vegas pattern.

Colleen went shopping and I caught the shuttle to Ballys and eventually found my way through the building and out on to The Strip. Casinos have directions to everywhere except to the outside world.

I went to Paris Paris, the Hotel Casino next door to go up in the half scale Eiffel Tower. The Tower has some of its legs inside the building. At 540 feet in height the Eiffel Tower replica has very good views all over Las Vegas.

We took the Monorail to MGM and a tram from Excalibur to Mandalay Bay and then on to Luxor. This Casino is in the shape of a very very large glass pyramid with hotel rooms around the sides and a massive open space. there are no post, beams or anything else inside to provide structure. this place must have been a nightmare to build.

Inside today was fine with the amount of air conditioning. Some of the outdoor areas use fine spray misters to keep areas cool. This afternoon the temperature here was around 40 Celsius.

Tonight we went to see Cirque du Soleil at the Mirage. This was a great show. The acrobatics and flexibility of these actors is awe inspiring.

Later we walked back to the Ballys on The Strip. Here are some night views.
