Move hotels to Fairmont Waterfront
Today begins our second tour. We started a Globus Tour of 12 days around the Rockies. Tomorrow we leave Vancouver on The Goldleaf Rocky Mountaineer on a two day journey to Kamloops. Our Globus Tour is followed by a cruise to Alaska via the Inside Passage.
This morning we left our accommodation on Robson Street to taxi to the Fairmont Hotel Waterfront to meet our Tour Director. Colleen and I always pay our gratuities upfront as we have never had a bad experience on the 5 or 6 escorted tours we have undertaken.
It rained slightly this afternoon but by the time we were out on the street it had stopped. we walked the eleven blocks back to Chinatown to the restaurant we enjoyed so much the other night. It was 4.00pm and the place was packed yet again. we really enjoyed the meal and walked back in brilliant sunshine to our hotel. We met with our Tour Director at 6.00pm (the reason for our very late lunch or very early dinner).
Here are some pictures we took this morning and later this afternoon. The sun doesn't go down till about 9.00pm here so it is wonderful having time to go for a long walk after dinner. Bring on daylight saving back in Queensland.
